ACCEPTANCE
All bookings accepted by BAKKIES GUESTHOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE are subject to the Terms and Conditions that are deemed to have been accepted in full by the Client/Guest. Payment of the Booking Fee also indicates acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
GENERAL
Guesting largely works on a self-catering approach, hence rooms will only be serviced after staying for a period of 5 days.
A child is defined as a person under the age of 12 years.
MEALS
Breakfast - The arrangements with regards to breakfast does not apply to reservations of the farmhouse, conference centre and special offers.
Lunch/Dinner and drinks - These are available on request at an additional cost.
LIQUOR
Bakkies Guesthouse has aquired a liquor license therefore all alcohol to be consumed is to be bought at the premises. A corkage fee is payable for all alcohol not purchased on site.
RESERVATION AND PAYMENTS
Clients/guests bookings are confirmed following receipt of full payment of the room rate. Payment MUST be made within 24 hours of making the reservation/booking.
Payment must be made in South African Rand (ZAR) and must be clear of all bank charges. We accept the following methods of payment: Bank to bank transfer to our account, Visa and MasterCard and Payfast. Under no circumstances will accommodation be provided until we have received cleared funds to cover the invoice amount. Failure to pay in accordance with the agreed terms of payment will result in suspension of accommodation. In the event of an overdue account 10% above the charged room rate will be payable within 3 days of invoice.
A refundable breakage deposit of R2 000-00 (minimum) is payable before check-in for group bookings.
RATES AND CHARGES
The rates include a cleaning service on weekdays (after a 5 day stay), bed linen and towels, utility charges, parking and broadband connection and usage [where applicable]. Our minimum length of stay is 1 night, with no maximum.
OCCUPANTS
Only guests for whom payment has been made and specified by name at the time of booking by the Client/Guest may occupy the rooms or serviced unit. The guests may not sublet. BAKKIES GUESTHOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE reserves the right to refuse admittance to the guest if they are in breach of this condition. Generally, the management and/or staff reserves rights of admission.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Cancellations are permissible. A refund of a maximum of 30% will be paid out for cancellations up to a period of 7 days prior to booking/arrival date. In other words, 70% of booking fees will be forfeited. No refund will be payable for cancellations of 7 days or less prior to booking/arrival date.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of reservation/booking date.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
Rooms are available for occupation after 14:00 on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated and keys returned to reception by 10:00 on the day of departure. If there is a delay in vacating the serviced unit beyond 10:00, a full day's rental is payable by the Client/Guest.
KEYS
Keys will be provided for the rooms and are to be returned in line with the departure terms as above. For any keys not returned, there will be a R250 charge. If the Client/Guest loses or misplaces their keys during occupation and require assistance to gain entry, an additional charge of R250 will be made.
BROADBAND
Broadband internet access is provided in the conference hall, dining room and some of the rooms. Although we will endeavour to assist with any connection problems, BAKKIES GUESTHOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE accepts no responsibility for the inability to connect to this facility.
PROPERTY USE AND CONDITIONS
The Client/Guest is responsible for taking all reasonable care of their room(s) and its contents. The rooms/serviced units and all equipment, utensils, furniture, etc. must be left clean and tidy at the end of the period of stay. No items may be removed from the rooms /serviced unit. Furniture and appliances should only be moved after consent has been obtained from management. Except in the case of normal wear and tear the Client/Guest will be responsible for making good any damage to the serviced unit or its contents which has occurred due to negligence, wilful damage or irresponsible behaviour on the part of the Client/Guest or their visitors. Such damage must be reported to management/reception without delay. In the event that breakage or damage is discovered or extra cleaning is required after departure, we will notify the Client/Guest in writing within 7 days of departure We will provide details of the issues and an invoice for the cost of rectifying them. BAKKIES GUESTHOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE will not be held responsible for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal effects howsoever arising at the serviced unit or in the unit block or its grounds. Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or serviced units, there are designated smoking areas.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaints must be made in writing immediately to BAKKIES GUESTHOUSE AND CONFERENCE CENTRE. Ideally complaints should be lodged within 3 days of departure to: info@bakkiesguesthouse.com (ATTENTION: MANAGEMENT)
